Abstract:

A premolded bulk body of a fiber-reinforced composite material constituted of a resinous material composing a matrix into which reinforcing fibers are dispersed, and a method of molding said premolded body into a desired shape, in which the whole of said premolded body is effectively and uniformly heated by internal heating. Formation of a desired number of holes in the premolded bulk body makes it possible to insert bar-like heaters or heating gas discharging nozzles into the premolded body through said holes to provide uniform heating smoothly. Further, the inclusion of an appropriate quantity of dielectric loss improving agent in said premolded body and the application of high-frequency heating or microwave heating thereto allows efficient and uniform heating of said premolded body in a short period of time.
