Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating a device for laying a nonwoven consisting of finite fibers according to the air-laying method. Said device is comprised of a rotatably mounted laying drum (3) whose outer surface can be passed through by the fibers and is radially flown through by an airflow (16) flowing toward an endless belt (2), which supports the nonwoven to be laid while advancing along the laying drum (3). The fibers to be laid to form a nonwoven are supplied on the face and in an eccentric manner in the axial direction of the laying drum (3). According to the invention, the supply of the fibers now ensues in a centric manner, preferably from both sides through the axle of the laying drum. The required comb cylinder (9) is also mounted in a centric manner inside the laying drum (3).
