Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technology for efficiently placing items of equipment which are safety protection tools and safety monitoring devices in a plant. [Solution] This method for placement of equipment in a plant 1 for carrying out fluid treatment involves: computing a risk which is the product of the probability that there will be a fluid outflow requiring the use of equipment and the impact of the fluid outflow; setting for each of a plurality of devices a distance for an allowable placement area in which equipment can be placed, said allowable placement area being shorter for devices with high risk and longer for devices with low risk as determined in a comparison of the computed risks; and thereafter determining placement positions for the equipment on the basis of the placement positions of the plurality of devices in the plant and the distances for the allowable placement areas.
