Abstract:
A method is proposed of preparing flax fibre for spinning and a production line for carrying out the said method. The invention relates to the textile finishing industry and can be used in the preparation of flax fibre for processing with other fibres on cotton spinning machinery. The technical result of this is an improvement in the quality of the product obtained and a saving in raw material. The fundamental feature of the invention is the stapling of the flax fibre by spinning it while simultaneously thinning and shortening it until it has a linear density and length corresponding to those of cotton fibre. The proposed process is performed in a production line comprising a number of consecutive units interconnected kinematically, namely, means for feeding the fibre, means for stapling, machines for loosening and cleaning the fibre and a press for extruding it.
