Abstract:
The present application provides a method of preparing high-purity borneol from lauraceae extract or blumea balsamifera extract. The method comprises using an aluminum alkoxide solution having a low boiling point to dissolve lauraceae extract or blumea balsamifera extract; distilling to obtain borneol aluminum and isoborneol aluminum; further distilling to obtain camphene; using a water vapor rearrangement product to obtain a borneol and camphene mixture; and, separating the two to obtain the desired product. The method is low in cost, has high separation efficacy, and is adapted for industrial production.
