The present disclosure relates to a technique for relaying and processing data of other nodes. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for configuring a relay node for data transmission for remote nodes connected through a side link-based relay under the control of a mobile communication network. One embodiment provides a method and an apparatus for a relay node to process remote node data. The method comprises: a step of receiving, from a base station, configuration information for configuring an adaptation entity; a step of configuring the adaptation entity by linking a PDCP entity and an RLC entity, on the basis of the configuration information; and a step in which the adaptation entity separates and processes data to be transmitted to the RLC entity and data to be transmitted to the PDCP entity.
