Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing an α-acyloxycarbonyl compound, comprising conducting an intermolecular reaction between a carboxylic acid and a carbonyl compound, said carbonyl compound being selected from the group consisting a ketone, an aldehyde and an ester each having a hydrogen atom at the α-position, with the use of a hydroperoxide which is an oxidizing agent and an iodide salt which is a catalyst precursor, to thereby introduce an acyloxy group derived from said carboxylic acid into the α-position of said carbonyl compound.
