Abstract:
In the present invention, overall costs are reduced, including plant construction costs and raw material and energy costs, and the quantity of carbon dioxide emitted is reduced. The present invention is a method for producing an aromatic compound, characterized by the inclusion of: a step A in which an aromatic compound mixture is produced from a mixed gas that includes carbon dioxide and/or carbon monoxide as well as hydrogen; a step B in which an aromatic compound mixture is produced by at least one process selected from the group consisting of a cracked-petroleum-based BTX production process in which naphtha is used as a raw material, a reformate-based BTX production process, and a synthesis-based BTX production process; a step C in which the aromatic compound mixture produced in step A and the aromatic compound mixture produced in step B are combined; and a step D in which a desired aromatic compound is separated and refined from the aromatic compound mixtures combined in step C.
