Abstract:
Provided is a method which is for producing a coated resin particle and includes a coating step for subjecting a first substance and a second substance that polymerizes with the first substance to a polymerization reaction on the surface of a water-absorbent resin particle in a water-absorbing state to form a coating portion with which at least a portion of the water-absorbent resin particle is coated. Provided is a method which is for adjusting a particle surface area and in which in a coating step for subjecting a first substance and a second substance that polymerizes with the first substance to a polymerization reaction on the surface of a water-absorbent resin particle in a water-absorbing state to form a coating portion with which at least a portion of the water-absorbent resin particle is coated, the surface area of a coated resin particle including the water-absorbent resin particle and the coating portion is adjusted on the basis of the degree of expansion of the water-absorbent resin particle in the water-absorbing state.
