Abstract:
A method for producing high-quality ε-caprolactam, which comprises: a first step wherein ε-caprolactam is crystallized by evaporating an organic solvent at a reduced pressure from a mixed solution that is obtained by dissolving crude ε-caprolactam, which has been obtained by Beckmann rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime, in the organic solvent, and then the mixed solution is subjected to solid-liquid separation, thereby obtaining a liquid phase and high-quality ε-caprolactam; and a second step wherein ε-caprolactam is further crystallized from the liquid phase, which has been obtained by the solid-liquid separation in the first step, and the liquid phase is subjected to solid-liquid separation, thereby obtaining a liquid phase and recovered ε-caprolactam.
