Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of clarifying the polymerization control effect of (meth)acrylic acid esters which heightens the living property and, by using the same, suppressing secondary reactions and providing a method for obtaining an isobutylene polymer having small molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn. The present invention relates to a method for producing an isobutylene polymer characterized in that living cationic polymerization of isobutylene is carried out in the presence of a polymerization initiator, a polymerization catalyst, and a (meth)acrylic acid ester compound.
