Abstract:
Provided are a method for producing a medium-chain carboxylic acid from agricultural waste by means of fermentation, and an application. A fermentation substrate of the method is a mixture of livestock and poultry manure and agricultural waste, the agricultural waste is crop residue and/or fruit and vegetable waste; the method comprises: A, a first level fermentation phase: fermentation bacteria being lactic acid bacteria, the fermentation temperature being 45-60 °C, and the pH being 4.0-6.0; and B, a second level fermentation phase: utilizing acclimated sludge to serve as an inoculum and performing anaerobic fermentation, the fermentation temperature being 25-40 °C, and the pH being 4.0-7.0. A high added value medium-chain carboxylic acid is obtained from livestock and poultry manure and agricultural waste by means of a two phase gradient temperature control fermentation method under the constraint that an exogenous electron donor is not added, and a feasible new avenue for high value utilization of agricultural waste is provided.
