Abstract:
A method for producing a nitrous acid ester whereby nitric oxide, oxygen, and an alcohol are reacted to produce a nitrous acid ester, the method for producing a nitrous acid ester including: a step for supplying the bottoms liquid from the bottom of the reaction column, and nitric oxide and/or carbon monoxide to a reactor to generate a nitrous acid ester; a step for supplying the nitrous acid ester to a reaction column; a step for supplying a reaction liquid containing water, nitric acid, and alcohol from the reactor to a nitric acid concentration column; and a step for separating the low-boiling fraction from the reaction liquid by distillation while controlling the alcohol concentration in the concentrated liquid produced in the bottom of the nitric acid concentration column to less than 4.0 wt%, and introducing the concentrated liquid into the reactor.
