Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing an olefin polymer of high molecular weight and high melting point efficiently even under the high-temperature conditions that are advantageous for industrial production processes. The problem is solved by a method for producing an olefin polymer characterized in that a monomer containing at least one type of α-olefin having three or more carbon atoms is polymerized under conditions of a polymerization temperature from 50°C to 200°C in the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization containing (A) a crosslinked metallocene compound represented by general formula [I] and (B) at least one type of compound selected from (b-1) organic aluminumoxy compounds, (b-2) compounds that form an ion pair by reacting with the crosslinked metallocene compound (A), and (b-3) organic aluminum compounds.
