Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an optical film making it possible to curb the occurrence of transverse peeling lines, and to keep manufacturing paths and optical films clean. The present invention is a method for producing an optical film, comprising: a step for preparing a dope that contains a cycloolefin polymer; a step for casting the dope onto a support to form a web; and a step for peeling the web from the support while also forming a cycloolefin polymer poor-solvent liquid reservoir between the web and the support. The liquid reservoir has a size of 0.5 to 3.0 cm in the peeling direction of the web.
