Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing an optical resin composition which has suppressed coloration and a sufficiently low water-absorbing property. This method for producing an optical resin composition comprises heat-treating a fluorine-containing polymer obtained by polymerizing, with an organic peroxide, a monomer group including a fluorine-containing compound having a carbon-carbon double bond, in an atmosphere where the concentration of water vapor is at most 100 vol ppm. For example, in the method for producing an optical resin composition, a terminal group of the fluorine-containing polymer is thermally decomposed through a heat treatment, and a low-molecular-weight compound produced by the thermal decomposition is volatilized.
