Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a method for producing a purified trans-1, 2-difluoroethylene (HFO-1132(E)) and/or 1, 1, 2-trifluoroethylene (HFO-1123), said method comprising: a distillation step wherein a composition 1 that contains difluoromethane (HFC-32) and HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1123 is distilled into a composition 2 wherein HFC-32 is reduced in comparison to the composition 1; and an extractive distillation step wherein the composition 2 is brought into contact with an extraction solvent, thereby obtaining a composition that contains HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1123, while being reduced in HFC-32 in comparison to the composition 2. With respect to this method, the composition 2 is an azeotropic composition or azeotrope-like composition that contains HFC-32, HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1123.
