Abstract:
This method for producing sheet glass involves forming a scribe line SL into a glass substrate G by moving a scribe tool 1 in a prescribed direction X, and folding and breaking the glass substrate G along the scribe line SL. The scribe tool 1 has a shank 2 and a tip 3 disposed at an end of the shank 2. The tip 3 has a cutting point 4 that forms a scribe line SL in the glass substrate G when being slid on the surface of the glass substrate G. The cutting point 4 is formed in a circular-arc shape that is orthogonal to the prescribed direction X.
