Abstract:
Provided is an industrially advantageous method for producing a titanium chelate compound, with which a titanium chelate compound can be obtained efficiently, with fewer steps and higher productivity. This method for producing a titanium chelate compound comprises: a first step for diluting a titanium alkoxide with a solvent to obtain a diluent; and a second step for mixing the diluent and a hydroxycarboxylic acid to obtain a titanium chelate compound. Preferably, the titanium alkoxide is at least one selected from among the following: tetramethoxy titanium (IV), tetraethoxy titanium (IV), tetra-n-propoxy titanium (IV), tetra isopropoxy titanium (IV), tetra-n-butoxy titanium (IV), and tetra isobutoxy titanium (IV).
