Abstract:

The present invention pertains to a method for producing a toner for developing an electrostatic image, the method including step (1): a step for performing polycondensation of a polyhydric alcohol component and a polyvalent carboxylic acid component in the presence of a hydrocarbon wax (W1) having a hydroxyl group or a carboxy group, and obtaining an amorphous resin (A) that contains a constituent component derived from the hydrocarbon wax (W1) and has a polyester portion; step (2): a step for dispersing the amorphous resin (A) obtained in step (1) in an aqueous medium, and obtaining an aqueous dispersion of resin particles (X); step (3): a step for causing the resin particles (X) obtained in step (2) to aggregate in the aqueous medium and in the presence of a crystalline polyester (B), and obtaining aggregate particles; and step (4): a step for causing the aggregate particles obtained in step (3) to fuse.
