Abstract:

A method for producing xylylenediamine, which comprises the following steps: (1) a first hydrogenation step wherein a mixed liquid, which is composed of dicyanobenzene and a solvent containing liquid ammonia, is hydrogenated by means of a fixed-bed reactor, thereby obtaining a reaction product (A); (2) an ammonia separation step wherein the liquid ammonia contained in the reaction product (A) or (D) is separated and removed, thereby obtaining a reaction product (B) or (E); (3) a solid-liquid separation step wherein the reaction product (B) or (A) is subjected to solid-liquid separation, thereby removing the solid component and obtaining a reaction product (C) or (D); and (4) a second hydrogenation step wherein the reaction product (C) or (E) is hydrogenated by means of a fixed-bed reactor. With respect to this method for producing xylylenediamine, the step (2) and the step (3) are carried out in this order or in the reverse order after the step (1), and the step (4) is carried out thereafter.
