Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of high-energy machine construction. The method of protecting high-energy machinery which uses hydrogen as a working medium involves reducing the diffusion of hydrogen into the structural metal of the system. For this purpose, active gaseous additives capable of pre-emptive adsorption on the metal surface are introduced into the gaseous hydrogen in a quantity of between 10 % by volume and a permissible critical level. The gaseous additives are selected from the group containing F, Cl, O and S and their compounds.
