Abstract:
A method for purifying a β-1,3-glucan ester derivative is provided in which impurity inclusion can be inhibited and a purified product can be obtained as finer particles. The method for purifying a β-1,3-glucan ester derivative comprises: a dissolution step in which a β-1,3-glucan ester derivative obtained by esterifying at least some of the hydroxyl groups of β-1,3-glucan with an acid is dissolved in a good-solvent liquid in which the β-1,3-glucan ester derivative is soluble; and a precipitation step in which a poor-solvent liquid in which the β-1,3-glucan ester derivative is less soluble is sprayed over the good-solvent liquid containing the β-1,3-glucan ester derivative dissolved therein, thereby precipitating the β-1,3-glucan ester derivative.
