Abstract:
Provided is a method for realizing the methanation of carbon dioxide at room temperature using a hydrogen storage alloy hydride. The specific method comprises: placing a hydrogen storage alloy hydride in a ball milling tank under a protective atmosphere, then pumping the protective atmosphere, charging a gas containing carbon dioxide, and using a ball mill to perform a ball milling reaction at room temperature, so as to obtain methane. The hydrogen storage alloy hydride is used as a hydrogen donor and a catalyst for the methanation reaction of carbon dioxide. Compared with the prior art, the rare earth hydrogen storage alloy hydride provides H atoms as a reducing agent for the methanation of carbon dioxide on the one hand, and generates a Ni@R2O3 catalyst in situ during the ball milling process on the other hand. The nano metal Ni has a catalytic effect on the methanation of carbon dioxide, and the absorption and activation of CO2 by La2O3 produced by the reaction greatly improves properties thereof, and the final methane yield can reach 83.2%.
