Abstract:
A method for reducing deoxynivalenol and a derivative thereof and applications of the method in reducing deoxynivalenol and/or the derivative thereof in a grain, in a grain processing byproduct, or in a grain product. The method utilizes high-pressure gas electric discharge to generate low-temperature plasma to reduce deoxynivalenol and/or the derivative thereof. The method has the advantages of having a high reduction rate, obviating the need for a high temperature, retaining food nutrients and flavor, and being residue-free.
