Abstract:

The present invention relates to a method for separating and purifying fucoxanthin from diatoms, and provides the optimal method for separating and purifying fucoxanthin from adhesive diatoms collected from Yong Am sea water on the South Korean island of Jeju. Highly pure fucoxanthin, separated and purified from the adhesive diatoms cultured at a large scale, can be used and applied in a variety of industrial fields such as medicine and cosmetics.
