Title:
METHOD FOR SUPPLYING ELECTRICITY TO THE POWERPLANT INSTALLATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/065211
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for supplying electricity to the powerplant installation of a motor vehicle, wherein said method is based on a chemical oxidation reaction between the components. The component to be oxidised consists of a fine-dispersion powder of calcium oxide which is dosed and supplied into a reactor at a temperature of 600 to 1200 K. The oxidising component consists of gaseous-phase carbon dioxide at a pressure of 0.1 to 3.0 MPa, wherein the weight ratio between the components is of 56 g of CaO for 44 g of CO¿2?. The method involves carrying out an exothermal reaction in the reactor, thus producing 100 g of CaCO¿3?. The calcium-carbonate thermal energy released during the reaction is converted into mechanical energy using an engine with external heat supply. The calcium carbonate produced onboard the vehicle is periodically removed, stored and submitted to thermal decomposition in stationary plants.
