Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a glass article involves: affixing a glass sheet having a curved-surface shape to a fixture at a position that is further inward than a planned-cutting line corresponding to the outer peripheral shape of a main surface of a glass article that is to be cut out from the glass sheet; causing the fixed glass sheet and the fixture to move relative to a cutting device through use of a first multi-jointed robot; forming an incision line at which an incision in the thickness direction of the glass sheet extends along the planned-cutting line; causing the fixed glass sheet in which the incision line is formed and the fixture to move relative to a folding device through use of the first multi-jointed robot, or through use of a second multi-jointed robot that has received the fixed glass sheet in which the incision line is formed and the fixture from the first multi-jointed robot; dividing the glass sheet into an article region and a spare-material region along the incision line; and chamfering the end surfaces of the divided article region.
