Detailed embodiments

The present invention is further explained by referencing the figures 1-3.

Figure 1 is a diagram of the anti-fake electronic ticketing system provided by the present invention. As mentioned above, said system includes an electronic ticketing network system

(1) and IC card (2). Said IC card (2) is non-contact, in particular can be the public transportation IC card. Each IC card is unique, has unique identification number, is of the type of cash card, and can be used for the payment of the ticket (ticket purchaser can nevertheless choose other methods of payment for the ticket). The system of the present invention can be applied to purchasing various tickets, including tickets for artistic shows or sporting events. One IC card can be used to buy one ticket or multiple tickets, where the identification number of the IC card can be bound with multiple ticket information (33).

The structure of the electronic ticketing network system (1) shown in Figure 1 includes, as described above, a main computer system (11) and the I/O unit (12), wherein it contains memory unit (111) for storing the data of the booking receipt (3), as shown in Figure 3, that is, the information formed by the identification number of the IC card (2) and the ticket information (33). The ticket information includes seat number, date, time and serial number etc. Each pair of the identification number of the IC card and ticket information is bound together and saved in the memory unit (111) for loading and verification later. The data processing unit (112) exports the data of the booking receipt (3), via the communication means, to the ticket printers (124), ticket verification terminals (125) and display panels (123) at a specific time of the day, for example at 12:00 a.m. on same day or the previous day of the show, thereby the system is ready for verifying the identification number of the IC card (2) and the ticket information (33). The terminal computers (121) and multiple telephones (122) are used for taking ticket bookings, wherein the booking receipt (3) data is saved in real time to the computer system (11). The display panels (123) are used to display the information. The ticket printers (124) are used for printing tickets which contain ticket information (33), although the corresponding booking receipt (3) data is exported and saved hi the computer system (11). The ticket verification terminals (125) are used for picking up the information in the non-contact IC card (2) that is passing through them, and exporting the information to the data processing unit (112) for verification against the booking receipt (3) data. When the verification result is positive, an indication of the seat number is shown and the ticket purchaser is allowed to enter. In case that the fee has not been paid, the fee could be charged from the IC card. The ticket verification terminals (125) normally contain reader/writers for IC card (2), which are installed at the specific positions, for example at the entrance of the ticket control post.

An operational electronic platform system (B) could be added to the system of the present invention, for the sake of operational reasons and safety concerns. Its structure is essentially the same as the above-mentioned electronic ticketing network system (1), and it is connected, via communication means, to the electronic ticketing network system (1) for realizing the same functions as that of the ticketing system (1) and mainly for storing and verifying the booking receipt (3) data etc.

It's clear from the above description that an anti-fake electronic ticketing system is realized by the present invention for ehminating the abuse of the fake tickets, by utilizing the popular non-contact public transportation IC card (2) and their safety features due to non- reproducibility.

The present invention is characterized in that a system and a method wherein the identification number of the non-contact public transportation IC card is used as a part of the booking receipt, and wherein the ticket purchaser is required to use the public transportation IC card for receiving the ticket or directly entering the place after the IC card is verified by

the ticket verification terminals (125) that is connected to the computer network, can effectively eliminate the use of fake or stolen tickets.

The method provided by the present invention can be varied in its steps. The first method contains the steps al - cl as indicated in the following paragraphs.

(al) the ticket purchaser books a ticket from the ticket seller, i.e. the anti-fake electronic ticketing system, at a ticket office or via telephone or Internet. After booking is done, the electronic ticketing network system (1) (manually or automatically) binds the ticket information (33) (for example the serial number and the seat number etc.) and the identification number of the purchaser's non-contact public transportation IC card (2) together and saves the data to the system or to an operational electronic platform system (B) provided by the third party. The purchaser, when booking the ticket at the ticket office, can select either saving the ticket data to the IC card (2), or to the system (1) or system (B) just like those purchasers who book the ticket via telephone or internet.

(bl) the ticket data for all purchasers who used the public transportation IC card, i.e. the booking receipts (3) are downloaded from the above-mentioned electronic ticketing system (1) or (B), via the communication or network platform, to the ticket verification terminals (125) that are installed at the entrance of the place concerned and contain the IC card reader/writers.

(cl) when entering the place, the purchaser is required to pass the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) through the ticket verification terminals (125), whereby the identification number of the IC card is picked up by the ticket verification terminals (125) and is verified against the downloaded ticket data. The purchaser is allowed to enter the place only when the identification number of the non-contact public transportation IC card matches the downloaded bound information, so the fake or stolen ticket cannot be used. If the ticket has a seat number, the ticket verification terminals (125) will display or print the ticket information (33) such as seat number etc.

The second method contains the following steps a2 - b2.

(a2) the ticket purchaser books a ticket from the ticket seller, using the electronic ticketing system of the present invention, at a ticket office or via telephone or Internet. After booking is done, the electronic ticketing network system (1) (manually or automatically) binds the ticket information (33) (for example the serial number and the seat number etc.) and the identification number of the purchaser's non-contact public transportation IC card (2) together and saves the data to the system as the booking receipt (3). The purchaser, when booking the ticket at the ticket office, can select either saving the ticket data to the IC card (2), or to the electronic ticketing system just like those purchasers who book the tickets via telephone or Internet.

(b2) the purchaser, when entering the place, is required to pass the public transportation IC card (2) through the ticket verification terminals (125) which send the identification number of the IC card to the electronic ticketing system of the present invention, i.e. system (1) or system (B) for verification in real time. When the verification result is positive, the purchaser is allowed to enter, and a ticket or seat number can be printed, if necessary.

The two methods use the same system provided by the present invention.

The anti-fake electronic ticketing system can be further extended to include payment by public transportation IC card (2). The purchaser can book a ticket via telephone or Internet, therefore the ticket information and the identification number of the IC card are bound. When entering the place, the purchaser is required to pass the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) through the ticket verification terminals (125), a fee is charged from the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) at the same time.

The anti-fake electronic ticketing system provided by the present invention can be further combined with other management systems or other payment platforms that involve the public transportation IC card.

The ticket verification terminals (125) for the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) can be installed at the ticket control posts, or a ticket can be printed first and the printed ticket is then used for entering the place.

One identification number of the non-contact public transportation IC card can be used to bind multiple tickets.

The ticket can be issued at any time, as long as the ticket verification terminals (125) are connected to the main computer system (11), and the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) whose identification number was already bound with the ticket information (33) is passed through the ticket verification terminals (125), whereby a ticket can be printed by the terminals (125).

The ticket verification terminals (125) can have printing function, i.e. they can be ticket verification terminals (125) with ticket printer (124).

The ticket verification terminals (125) can have display panels.

The ticket verification terminals (125) can have the function of charging fees from the non- contact public transportation IC card (2).

The ticket verification terminals (125) are connected to the other parts of the present invention by the means of wire, wireless or dedicated line connection.

The anti-fake electronic ticketing system provided by the present invention can export the bound booking receipt (3) data to a management system at the meeting place, that can be a computer system used to verify the IC card (2) and the corresponding booking data (3), and is connected to the ticket verification terminals (125). The ticket verification is carried out in said management system when the non-contact public transportation IC card (2) whose identification number was already bound is passed through the ticket verification terminals (125). The ticket verification terminals (125) in this case are only to pick up the information from the non-contact public transportation IC card (2).
