Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of display technology, and in particular involve a method for turning on screen protection for a display device and a display device, where a plurality of image partitions corresponding to an image to be displayed which will be displayed on a display device are obtained, and brightness information of each image partition is determined according to gray scale values of all pixels within each image partition; with respect to the image partitions, when it is determined that the brightness information of a preset proportion of the image partitions has not changed for a length of time that exceeds a preset length of time, the display device is controlled to display screen protection.
