Abstract:
Disclosed are a method used to request system information, an apparatus, user equipment and a base station. The method comprises: sending a first random access request, the first random access request carrying at least one guide code identifying system information to be requested; listening in a pre-determined time period for response information corresponding to the first random access request, response information carrying information used to respond to a guide code; when the response information is detected, listening for and receiving the system information to be requested in a send window for system information to be requested corresponding to the guide code identifier on the basis of a guide code identifier included in the response information. Technical solutions of the present disclosure can avoid the problem of time delay in a UE acquiring system information caused by a random access request of the UE requesting system information failing, and a base station not being able to broadcast a second type of system information in a timely manner.
