Abstract:
Provided is a method for using lithium metal to prepare lithium sulfide comprising the following steps: A) placing 0.05-0.1 kg of lithium metal and a corresponding sulfur powder, according to a mass ratio of 1:0.8 – 1:1, in a 5-10 L sealed container under inert conditions; B) placing the sealed container into a 250-300°C vacuum oven for 2-3 hours, then adding an equal amount of sulfur as in A) and maintaining the temperature for 2-3 hours, and finally adding an equal amount of sulfur as in A) and maintaining the temperature for 2-3 hours; C) placing a lithium sulfide crude product obtained after the high-temperature firing into a sealed ball mill, and performing ball milling at room temperature for 12-24 hours at a rotation speed of 100-500 r/min; D) within an inert gas, retrieving the powder from the ball mill, adding to the ball-billed lithium sulfide a mixed solution of isopropanol/dimethylbenzene at a mass-to-volume ratio of 1:5, and stirring same for 1-2 hours; E) within the inert gas, filtering the stirred lithium sulfide slurry, adding n-hexane for elution to obtain a lithium sulfide wet material; F) placing the obtained lithium sulfide wet material into a vacuum drying container at 205°C and drying for 8-12 hours to obtain the lithium sulfide product. The method has a simple and practical process, low production costs, little pollution and high safety, saves energy, and is suitable for industrial production. The prepared lithium sulfide has little primary particles, high purity, and good crystallinity.
