Abstract:
According to the present invention, methane is produced by adding hydrogen to CO2 in the exhaust gas discharged from a cement production facility, or to CO2 separated and recovered from the exhaust gas, and the methane is used as an alternative fuel for some or the entirety of fossil fuel supplied to the cement production facility. By methanizing and effectively utilizing CO2 in a cement exhaust gas that contains much exhaust gas derived from limestone instead of fossil fuel, use of fossil fuels such as coals, petroleum and natural gases is able to be reduced, thereby enabling the reduction of CO2 of energy origin as well as the enhancement of the greenhouse gas reduction effect.
