Abstract:
Provided is a microchip which has a highly precise flow path shape, is suitable for easy and stable mass production, and furthermore is capable of utilisation in PCR, and also provided is a method for manufacturing the microchip. The microchip comprises: a substrate which is provided with a flow path groove in the surface on one side thereof; and a cover member which is thermally bonded to the substrate surface on this one side. The cover member comprises a plurality of laminated layers and is formed by bonding adjacent layers thereof. A first load deflection temperature of the material forming a first layer which, among the plurality of layers of the cover member, is the most remote layer from the substrate is higher than a heating temperature which is set when the microchip is employed. A second load deflection temperature of the material forming a second layer which is bonded with the substrate is lower than the first load deflection temperature.
