Abstract:
This device comprises: an external sensor 102 that scans the environment and periodically outputs scan data; a storage device 104 that stores an environment map; and a location estimation device 106 that performs matching between the sensor data and the environment map as read out from the storage device 104 and estimates the location and posture of a mobile body 10. The location estimation device 106 uses a history for the estimated location and the estimated posture of the mobile body 10 to determine the present location of the mobile body 10 and an estimated prediction value and uses the prediction value to perform matching.
