Description:
MOBILE POSITION

Technical Field

The invention relates to a position capable of moving (i.e. mobile position) in which soldiers, policemen, and other security members take up a position for the purposes of observation, guarding and protection while they are on guard duty.

State of The Art

Watchtowers, which are used both in Turkey and in many other countries, serve the purposes of observation and early warning. These towers fail to ensure the security of the sentries adequately. Such towers, which cannot provide a high-level protection during conflict, cause the sentries to risk their lives even more in order to shoot.

The chances are high for tower sentries to be wounded and lose their lives during the initial fire. The towers, being exposed at all four sides, allows the threat factors to aim at their targets easily.

The fact that said watchtowers are devoid of mobility is another negative factor. The towers that are stably located facilitates it for the threat factors to conceal themselves and to penetrate to the protected sites or inside the tower using stairs.

In the state of the art, the abstract of the Application No. WO2014054982 (A2) entitled "Watchtower" includes the following: "The claimed watchtower relates to armoured viewing cabins, mounted on supports, for housing a sentry on the perimeter of a guarded site. The cabins are surrounded by armour layers. The watchtower can be rapidly installed and repaired. The invention can be used in systems for safeguarding the perimeter of strategically significant sites." The watchtower in said application has high defense properties. However, the tower lacks an opening which allows shooting. The sentries are required to shoot leaving the tower, or to wait doing nothing after informing the support units. This, in turn, means that the sentries risk their lives or the areas that they have to protect. Consequently, due to the aforementioned drawbacks and insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development has deemed necessary in the related technical field.

Object of the Invention

The invention, inspired by the existing conditions, aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.

The primary object of the invention is to increase safety by providing the watchtowers with mobility.

Another object of the invention is to provide the security of the person who is on guard duty in the watchtower.

Yet another object of the invention is to better protect the area under the control of the watchtower against threat factors. Another object of the invention is to enable the sentry in the watchtower to observe, i.e. survey, better.

Another object of the invention is to enable the sentry in the watchtower to shoot safely. And another object of the invention is to prevent the threat factors from ascending the watchtower.

• the gun housing (4) is formed on the main body (1 ) in a way to be provided thereon with a space for placing the gun, and preferably in convex form,

• the control unit (1 1 ) and the power source (13) are located inside main body (1 ), being interconnected and connected to the electrical components, i.e. the camera (6), thermal camera (6.1 ), light source (7), servo motor A (8), servo motor B (9), and servo motor C (10), preferably by way of cables.

The details and functions of the components of the preferred embodiment of the mobile position (M), on the other hand, are as described below. The size of the main body (1 ) is such that the sentries (preferably at least two person) can move therein and the components to be comprised thereby as explained above will be accommodated. It is preferably in the form of a combination of two cones, the circular surfaces of which are joined and the pointed ends of which are rounded. Preferably, an angle less than 41 degrees is present between the side surface of the upper conical portion and the ground. Thus, the bullets aimed at the mobile position (M) will not perforate the shield of the main body (1 ). Said shield has two layers and compressed nitrogen gas is present between the layers. In case the outer layer is perforated during a possible missile attack, the compressed nitrogen sprays out the perforating fire of the missile, thereby avoiding any damage to the second layer. Said main body (1 ) serves the function of providing a protection, guarding, observation, and control center for those to perform guard duty therein. The task of the main body ground (1 .1 ) is to present a surface on which the people to take position within the main body (1 ) can move. Preferably, the control unit (1 1 ) and the power source (13) (e.g. a feeder line) are located on the main body ground (1 .1 ). The anchor plate (1 .2) serves for sliding on the bearing (3.1 ), and thus allowing the main body (1 ) to move in Z1 axis as well as helping the main body (1 ) to transfer its weight to the body gear (3). The threaded body shaft (2), in addition to enabling the main body (1 ) to move in Z axis, serves for keeping the main body (1 ) at a higher level from the ground, and hence preventing the unwanted people from ascending.

The function of the body shaft nut (2.1 ) connected with said body gear (3) is helping the up and down movement of the main body (1 ) without rotating in Z axis during the rotation of the body shaft (2). The shaft housing (2.2) allows for creating a movement area by locating the main body (1 ) around the body shaft (2). The shaft carriage (2.3), on the other hand, enables the main body (1 ) to move on the rail shaft (12.1 ), and thus protecting it against potential threats. The task of the shaft protector (2.4) is to reduce any potential outside damage to the body shaft (2) and to guide the body gear (3) such that the main body (1 ) will move in Z axis without rotating in Z1 axis (perpendicular circular axis, i.e. around its own axis in perpendicular axis). The body gear (3) ensures that the main body (1 ) rotates in Z1 axis by means of the bearing (3.1 ) positioned in the channel thereon and of the servo motor C gear (10.2) connected to the gears thereof. The task of said bearing (3.1 ) is to allow the circular movement of the anchor plate (1 .2), and hence of the main body ground (1 .1 ) and the main body (1 ) itself when the body gear (3) is in fixed state. On the other hand, the gun housing (4) allows for placing the guns for shooting and thanks to its oval surface, causes the incoming bullets to bounce from the shield, thereby guaranteeing the safety of the sentries during the fire. The body cover (5) is configured for the entry/exit of the sentries to/from the main body (1 ). Entry/exit to/from the body cover (5) is preferably performed by suspending a rope or portable stairs therefrom. The camera (6) enables the personnel inside the main body (1 ) to observe the environment and potential threat factors. The thermal camera (6.1 ), which is a different type of camera (6), is capable of providing vision during the night and in dark environments by monitoring thermal changes via infrared rays. The light source (7) serves for lighting during the night and is preferably a projector. The servo motor A (8) rotates the rail shaft (12.1 ) arranged in the rail system (12) and thus enables the shaft carriage (2.3) to perform back and forth movement in the horizontal plane (Y-Y plane) in which the rail system (12) is positioned. The servo motor B (9), on the other hand, ensures that the body shaft (2) rotates in Z1 axis. Further, the servo motor C (10) allows the servo motor C shaft (10.1 ) to move in Z1 axis. The task of the servo motor C shaft (10.1 ) is to allow for the movement of the servo motor C gear (10.2) in Z1 axis. The function of the servo motor C gear (10.2) is to move the servo motor C (10), the main body ground (1 .1 ), and the main body (1 ) itself in Z1 axis. The control unit (1 1 ) is the command center of the mobile position (M). It allows the operation and controlling the movements of the camera (6), thermal camera (6.1 ), light source (7), servo motor A (8), servo motor B (9), and servo motor C (10) by commands. The rail system (12) is to present the area for accommodating the threaded rail shaft (12.1 ) on which the shaft carriage (2.3) will move. The rail shaft (12.1 ) driven by the servo motor A (8) serves for moving the shaft carriage (2.3) to which it is connected along the rail system (12) but without rotating, with the help of the rail shaft nut (12.2) as well. The power source (13) supplies the required energy for operating said electrical components and the control unit (1 1 ). Finally, energy and command transmission is preferably ensured by way of cables. The cables are positioned between the electrical components, control unit (1 1 ) and power source (13), preferably over or within the main body (1 ), main body ground (1 .1 ), shaft protector (2.4), and the rail system (12). Command transmission and reception may as well be performed by wireless communication units. Preferably, the control unit (1 1 ) and the components that it operates by commands have wireless communication units.

The operation of the mobile position (M) is as follows:

• changing of the guards is performed by entry/exit through the body cover (5) when the main body (1 ) is close to the ground,

• the personnel(s) relieving the guard sends the servo motor B (9) the command to operate using the control unit (1 1 ),

• upon operation of the servo motor B (9), the body shaft (2) moves in clockwise or counterclockwise in Z1 axis,

· the body shaft nut (2.1 ) directs the rotational movement of the body shaft (2) as a movement in Z axis to the body gear (3) to which it is fixed,

• the body shaft nut (2.1 ) and the shaft protector (2.4) prevent the body gear (3) from rotating,

• with the guidance of the shaft protector (2.4) as well, the main body (1 ) moves up and down in Z axis but without rotating, according to the command from the control unit (1 1 ),

• the sentry actuates the servo motor C (10) over the control unit (1 1 ),

• the servo motor C (10) drives the servo motor C shaft (10.1 ),

• the servo motor C shaft (10.1 ) transfers its movement in Z1 axis to the servo motor C gear (10.2),

• the servo motor C gear (10.2) commences to move on the teeth of the body gear (3) which is fixed,

• the anchor plate (1 .2) simultaneously moves on the bearing (3.1 ) connected to the body gear (3),

· thus, the main body (1 ) starts to rotate in Z1 axis, in the meantime, the sentry observes the surrounding over the control unit (1 1 ) using the camera (6) if it is daytime, or using the thermal camera (6.1 ) if it is night time or dark,

with the movement of the main body (1 ), the presence of the camera (6) and thermal camera (6.1 ) provides a vision of 360°for the sentry,

one may observe the environment more conveniently by activating the light source (7) over the control unit (1 1 ) when necessary,

the sentry commands the servo motor A (8) over the control unit (1 1 ), the servo motor A (8), in turn, rotates the rail shaft (12.1 ) in the rail system (12), the rail shaft (12.1 ) rotating in clockwise or counterclockwise direction according to the incoming command moves the shaft carriage (2.3) back and forth in a way not to rotate in the rail system (12) located in X-Y plane within the shaft carriage (2.3) thanks to the rail shaft nut (12.2),

the sentry thus takes the main body (1 ) to the desired position taking the position of the threat factor(s) into account,

the sentry may move the mobile position (M) in three axes simultaneously and/or independently: Z axis, Z1 axis, and X axis and Y axis which are formed on the linear plane in which the rail system (12) is positioned, according to the preferred embodiment of the latter.

the sentry rotates the main body (1 ) and makes the gun housing (4) to assume a position to fire against said threat factors,

then fire is opened on the threat factors using the gun placed in the gun housing

(4),

any attack against the mobile position (M) is prevented thanks to the surface angle and shield of the main body (1 ),

the shaft protector (2.4), on the other hand, reduces the level of damage to the body shaft (2) during the attack,

preferably two personnel must be assigned for the use of the mobile position (M): while one of them performs the required work in the control unit (1 1 ), the other uses the gun positioned in the gun housing (4), when necessary.
