The present invention relates to a system and method for sorting delivery packages, and more particularly, to a modular sorting system and a package sorting method that are capable of having extension and retraction conveyor modules for extending and retracting conveyors and outfeed conveyor modules for releasing the packages fell from the extension and retraction conveyor modules to predetermined chutes.
