Abstract:
A mold clamping machine (40) according to an embodiment is provided with: an electric servo motor (47) that causes a pair of movable plates (42a, 42b) to which a pair of molds (41a, 41b) are respectively attached, to be moved, by means of a ball screw (48), in a direction in which the molds (41a, 41b) are closed; and a hydraulic cylinder (46) that is attached to one of the pair of movable plates (42a, 42b) and presses the movable plate in the direction in which the molds are closed. When a movement distance of the molds from initial positions becomes a prescribed distance or more, both the electric servo motor (47) and the hydraulic cylinder (46) are operated.
