The present invention makes it possible to provide a molded article of a polygonal tube shape having a deep molding depth and an acute-angle ridge R, with press working via deep drawing molding, without the need for ironing. The molded article is produced by performing polygonal tube deep drawing molding on a blank (10) made from a steel plate, to obtain a molded article (1) having a polygonal tube shape which has a polygonal bottom surface part (2), side walls (3) that are provided with straight side parts (3A) which are respectively continuous with the sides of the bottom surface part (2) and vertical ridges (3B) which connect the left/right direction ends of adjacent straight side parts, and a flange (4) that is continuous with the side walls (3). In the blank (10), the sides of a flange region which is to become the flange has notches (11). The notches (11) are respectively formed in the sides of the flange region which are continuous with a region that will be positioned closer to the vertical ridge (3B) than the left/right direction center position of the straight side parts (3A).
