Title:
MOLTEN ZINC-PLATED ALLOY AND PLATED STEEL STRIPS AND STEEL MATERIALS COATED WITH SAID ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1984/000039
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An alloy for hot dipping comprising 3.5 to 5.0 wt. % of Al, 0.05 to 0.5 wt. % of Si, 0.01 to 0.5 wt. % of Mg, and the balance of Zn. A coating formed by using this alloy shows excellent corrosion resistance and adhesive properties and depresses elution of iron into the hot dipping bath, thus making the bath composition stable and, therefore, improving hot dipping workability markedly. Molten zinc-plated steel strips and materials having the alloy coating of the present invention have excellent adhesive properties of the coating so that they show excellent workability.
