Abstract:
The present invention provides a contact lens which is able to exhibit excellent elongation at break and excellent surface hydrophilicity even if produced without performing a surface hydrophilization treatment, while using a hydrophobic mold that is formed of a polypropylene and the like. The present invention also provides a monomer composition and a polymer, each of which is suitably used for the purpose of achieving the contact lens. This monomer composition contains (A) a siloxanyl group-containing itaconic acid diester monomer, (B) an amide group-containing monomer, (C) a hydroxyl group-containing monomer, (D) a siloxanyl group-containing (meth)acrylate and (E) a crosslinking agent at a specific ratio.
