Abstract:
Provided is a monomer composition in which the polymerization inhibitor solubility in ring-structured monomer is excellent, the ring-structured monomer stability during storage is excellent, and the ring-structured monomer may be easily separated from the polymerization inhibitor by distillation. Also provided is a method for producing a high molecular weight fluorine-containing polymer from the monomer composition. The monomer composition contains a specific ring-structured monomer and a polymerization inhibitor, and the polymerization inhibitor satisfies the following: (a) the polymerization inhibitor is a six-membered ring unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbon having 1 to 4 substituents; (b) the polymerization inhibitor has, as a substituent, at least one type selected from the group consisting of the t-butyl group, methyl group, isopropenyl group, oxo group, and hydroxyl group; (c) when the polymerization inhibitor has the oxo group as a substituent, the polymerization inhibitor has either or both of the t-butyl group and the methyl group as a substituent other than the oxo group; and (d) when the polymerization inhibitor has the hydroxyl group as a substituent, the number of hydroxyl groups is only one.
