Claims:
CLAIMS

1. A mooring aid device (1), characterized in that it comprises a net- like structure (2), adapted to be supported by at least one supporting element (3), said supporting element (3) being configured to support said net-like structure (2) above water level, keeping it deployed, said net-like structure

(2) being engageable by a hook-like element (10) for the mooring of a vessel.

2. The mooring aid device according to claim 1, characterized in that said net-like structure (2) is substantially quadrangular in shape.

3. The mooring aid device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said net-like structure (2) is adapted to be engaged with a pier or wharf (6), at at least two points (5) thereof, said one or more supporting elements

(3) being engaged with one of their ends to an end of said net-like structure (2) and with their other end to a fixed point (7) of said pier or wharf (6).

4. The mooring aid device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said supporting elements (3) are configured as flexible arc-like elements provided with a float (4) in order to keep said net- like structure, to which they are connected, out of the water.

5. The mooring aid device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said net-like structure (2) is adapted to be arranged in a position that lies above a buoy (16).

6. The mooring aid device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said hook-like element (10) is a twisted hook like element that is adapted to define a loop (11) at one end and a ring (12) at the opposite end.

7. The mooring aid device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said net-like structure (2) is provided with ribbon-like elements.

8. The mooring aid device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said supporting elements (3) keep said net-like structure (2) stretched.

Description:
MOORING AID DEVICE

The present invention relates to a mooring aid device. More specifically, the invention relates to a device that makes it possible to facilitate the mooring of a vessel to a pier or a buoy.

As is known, the mooring that is typically carried out by a vessel to a wharf or pier in a harbor is achieved using two lines which are connected to two bitts arranged at the stem end of the vessel and to two bitts or rings arranged on the pier, as well as a line that connects the bow of the vessel to a fixed point on the bottom that lies in front of the bow of the vessel itself.

The lines described above are normally connected to the pier and positioned on it or in the water.

This situation consequently entails difficulties in getting them from the boat and additional time for the mooring operation. In fact, the yacht sailor must, normally using a boathook, hook the lines that are arranged on the pier or dangling in the water and pull them on board in order to fix them to the mooring bitts arranged on the vessel.

In order to prevent collisions with the wharf or the adjacent vessels, some more modern vessels are fitted with additional maneuvering thrusters, which as the name implies are used for maneuvering when the vessel is almost stationary and the effects of the helm are substantially null, thus rendering the vessel unmanageable.

Therefore, being able to reduce the time dedicated to connecting the mooring lines, with or without the aid of harbor personnel awaiting the vessel on land, becomes an essential requirement for simplifying the life of the yacht sailor.

Furthermore, a simple and effective mooring solution also makes it possible to avoid any damage to the vessel that could derive both from accidental contact with the structure of the wharf or pier, and from contact with the adjacent vessels.

This entails a more important problem in the summer months when the harbors are very crowded and spaces are certainly scarce.

Being able to prevent collisions with the wharf translates into the need for a mooring that is sufficiently spaced apart from the wharf itself, in order to prevent the vessel, should it unduly move in reverse, from coming into accidental contact with the wharf.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a mooring aid device that enables a simplified mooring operation in total safety for a vessel that docks at a pier or at a buoy.

Within this aim, an object of the present invention is to provide a mooring aid device that makes it possible to prevent accidental damage to the vessel if it should move in reverse toward the wharf.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a mooring aid device wherein the vessel always remains at an adequate distance from the wharf or jetty.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a mooring aid device that is highly reliable, easily and practically implemented and low- cost.

This aim and these and other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter are achieved by a mooring aid device, characterized in that it comprises a net-like structure, adapted to be supported by at least one supporting element, said supporting element being configured to support said net-like structure above water level, keeping it deployed, said net-like structure being engageable by a hook-like element for the mooring of a vessel.

Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the mooring aid device according to the invention, which are illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the mooring aid device according to the present invention;

With reference to the figures, the mooring aid device according to the invention, in a first embodiment thereof illustrated in Figures 1-8, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a net-like structure 2, adapted to be supported by at least one or preferably a pair of bows 3, for example made of fiberglass, which are flexible and are provided with mini buoys or floats 4 that make it possible to keep them at water level.

The net-like structure 2 is conveniently provided for example using ribbon-like elements.

The bows 3 are therefore substantially for the most part immersed in the water, with the floats 4 keeping the net-like structure 2 in suspension with respect to the water surface.

The net-like structure 2 is furthermore connected to two fixed points 5 provided at a jetty or pier 6. In this manner, the net-like structure 2 is lifted up from the water, kept in a substantially horizontal position, spaced apart from the jetty or pier 6, and adapted to carry out mooring by engaging a line with such structure.

The bows or arc-like elements 3 can also be connected to a fixed point 7 provided at the wharf 6.

Conveniently, in the first embodiment, the net-like structure 2 has a substantially quadrangular shape, with two sides 2a, 2b arranged substantially parallel to the wharf 6, and connecting sides 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f and 2g arranged respectively to connect the parallel sides 2a, 2b of the net-like structure 2.

The arc-like elements 3 are connected respectively to the point of connection between the parallel portion 2b and the portions 2c and 2g and to the ends of the portions 2d and 2f that are designed to be in contact with the wharf 6.

In this manner a quadrangular structure is provided that is sufficiently robust and flexible and makes it possible to ensure that contact of the vessel with it is damped, thus preventing the vessel from impacting with the pier 6.

Furthermore, the mooring aid device according to the invention also entails the use of a hook-like element 10, conveniently twisted, so as to have a hook-like element 10 with a portion 10a arranged on one plane and a portion 10b that is arranged on a plane at an angle with respect to the plane that contains the portion 10a, so as to provide a form of loop 11 that makes it possible to engage the net-like structure 2. In particular, the hook-like element 10 can be simply thrown over the net-like structure 2 and then pulled back so that the loop 11 comes to be engaged by a portion of the structure 2, thus enabling the yacht sailor to hook on to the net-like structure 2, and then complete the mooring operation without haste.

The hook-like elements described above can be engaged with the net- like structure using special rods, which are actuated manually (for example a boathook) or mechanically by the vessel, or they can also be thrown, tied to a line fixed to a bitt of the vessel. In any case the hook-like element, whatever way it falls within the net-like structure 2, remains stably fixed to it.

In order for it to be engaged by a line or by a manually- or mechanically-movable rod, the hook-like element 10 is provided with an eyelet 12 which allows the fixing of a line or the engagement of a rod.

In a second embodiment of the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 15, the net-like structure 2 is constituted by a sort of basket which is coupled to a top of a rod-like element 17 that protrudes upward from a buoy 16 and ends in a ring 20. The basket conveniently can rotate with respect to the buoy 16 and is further fixed to the ring 20 by way of a shackle 18.

In this case, the bow-like elements 3 support a quadrangular net-like structure 2 that defines the basket mentioned above. The basket can take different forms.

Operation of the mooring aid device according to the present invention is evident from the foregoing description.

In practice it has been found that the mooring aid device according to the invention fully achieves the set aim and objects, in that it makes it possible to perform a mooring operation in total simplicity and safety, while preventing the vessel from coming to impact against a wharf, if the mooring aid device is installed adjacent to a wharf, or from coming to impact against a buoy if the device is coupled to a buoy.

The device thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.

Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to the requirements and to the state of the art. The disclosures in Italian Patent Application No. 102020000006964 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by reference.

Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
