Abstract:
A moving carrier that sticks to a surface by use of sticking means such as negative pressure is capable of easily performing pulling over, or transverse movement, in a direction intersecting a moving direction of the carrier. The moving carrier is provided with driving/moving means having at least two driving wheels or at least one endless track at each of the left and right sides of the carrier relative to its moving direction. In portions where the driving/moving means and faces on which the carrier travels are in contact, one contact portion randomly selected from contact portions on a randomly selected side of either the left side or the right side of the carrier relative to its moving direction is provided in the vicinity of the center of a sticking force acting on the carrier. The other contact portions are located at positions away from the center of the sticking force. When the carrier pivots on the one randomly selected portion as the center, the other contact portions slide sideways.
