Abstract:
A moving handrail drive device of a passenger conveyor capable of preventing
a frictional force between drive rollers and a moving handrail from lowering
over a long period. The moving handrail drive device (6) moving the moving handrail
(5) is disposed on the return passage side of the moving handrail (5). The moving
handrail drive device (6) comprises the plurality of drive rollers (9) in contact
with the moving handrail (5). The moving handrail (5) is moved by the rotation
of the drive rollers (9). Recesses and protrusions are formed on the contact faces
(21) of the drive rollers (9) on the moving handrail to form rough surfaces treated
to a predetermined surface roughness. Accordingly, foreign matters such as
the fiber waste of the moving handrail become hard to adhere to the contact faces
of the drive rollers. As a result, the frictional force between the drive rollers
and the moving handrail can be prevented from lowering over a long period.
