Abstract:
Provided is an elevator in which working efficiency does not readily decrease and in which it is possible to avoid collision of cars that are adjacent in the plumb vertical direction. This elevator (1) comprises a first car (3) and a second car (3) that are adjacent in the plumb vertical direction, a first generation unit (10), a second generation unit (11), and an ascent/descent control unit (12). The first generation unit (10) generates a first speed pattern in which the position of a target floor of the first car (3) is used as a reference. The second generation unit (11) generates a second speed pattern in which the speed of the first car (3) does not exceed a limit speed. In the second pattern, a position that is set apart, by a margin in the direction of the first car (3), from the position at which the second car (3) stops is used as a reference. The limit speed is an upper-limit speed at which the first car (3) does not collide with the second car (3) when braking and stopping. The ascent/descent control unit (12) controls the ascent and descent of the first car (3) on the basis of whichever of the first and second speed patterns has a lower speed at the current position of the first car (3).
