Abstract:
A multi-cylinder hermetic compressor 100 which comprises a plurality of compression mechanisms 10a, 10b that are inside a hermetic container 101 and have muffler chambers 60a, 60b, further comprises an electric motor section 102 that drives the plurality of compression mechanisms 10a, 10b, and further comprises a plurality of coolant channels 33a, 33b, 33c that guide coolant, ejected by one muffler chamber 60b among the plurality of compression mechanisms 10a, 10b, to the other muffler chamber 60a, and which discharges the coolant, ejected by the muffler chamber 60b of one compression mechanism 10b, into the hermetic container 101 after causing the coolant to merge into the other muffler chamber 60a via the plurality of coolant channels 33a, 33b, 33c, wherein the total cross-sectional area of the plurality of coolant channels 33a, 33b, 33c is set in a range of 11-20 times the displacement of one compression mechanism from among the plurality of compression mechanisms 10a, 10b.
