Abstract:
A multi-layered coated substrate having compact unevennesses on the surface thereof and having high heat resistance and high integrity; and a method of production of the substrate by the so-called 'sol-gel method'. The method comprises premolding each layer laminated on a substrate into a gel shape and laminating the same on the substrate by main molding. A mold for premolding each layer has various surface shapes depending on the intended applications of the multi-layered coated substrate. Because each layer is premolded into a predetermined shape, the occurrence of cracks in each layer during main molding can be effectively prevented. In main molding, the substrate and a plurality of layers laminated thereon are heated while being pressed by the mold. Therefore this method provides a multi-layered coated substrate having the surface shape of the pressing mold transferred thereto.
