Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for providing trip planning and associated payment of a trip involving multiple modes of transportation (i.e., "multi-modal trip planning"). Embodiments can enable a user to plan a multi-modal journey on an electronic device, and pay for products (tolls, tickets, etc.) associated with the journey on the same electronic device, or a different electronic device. Embodiments can also allow for re-planning a journey, providing for an alternative route when current information regarding an original route suggests the alternate route would be advisable. Payment for products associated with the alternate route can be provided.
