Abstract:
This multi-shell tank comprises: an inner tank that retains liquefied gas; a single or multiple outer tanks that are arranged with a gap outside the inner tank so as to surround the inner tank; and a planar insulating material that is fixed to two or more surfaces among the outer surface of the inner tank, the inner surface of the outer tanks, and the outer surface of the outer tanks so as to cover the surfaces, and inhibits thermal radiation, thermal conduction, and thermal convection. The tank wall has high thermal insulation properties that are achieved without the need for high vacuum between the inner tank and the outer tank.
